SAPS brigadier and biker buddies donate to local school

Bikers get serious about investing in children’s education.

SAPS Ekurhuleni Deputy District Commissioner Brigadier Lebohang Machakela rallied the support of his affiliated motorcycle club, HD Muscle Pull Bikers, to donate 230 pairs of new school shoes to learners of Kingsway Intermediate School.

Riding on their iron steeds, the group of bikers, largely consisting of professionals, gathered on April 12 to warm the hearts of underprivileged pupils.

“We believe in the power of community and know that education plays a vital role in shaping a brighter future for our children,” said Machakela.

“We hope that this small contribution can make a big difference in the lives of those young learners and encourage them to pursue their studies with confidence.”

With joy and jubilation, school officials, SGB members, Benoni Police Station’s new commander, Brigadier Khumbulani Mbatha and other stakeholders watched as learners received what the school’s principal, Lungisa Mashiyi, described as a token of pride.

“These shoes will not only keep our learners comfortable and safe but also instil a sense of pride in their education,” he said.

Following the handover, the riders rode in convoy around the school signifying the unity and camaraderie of bikers and the school.
