Operations continue in an effort to stamp out crime.

Possession of drugs
• Members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) arrested four people on charges of being in possession of drugs, with the intent to sell.

Arrests were made in Benoni, Kempton Park and Daveyton.

Meth, Mandrax and heroin were seized.

• While conducting routine patrols along the N12 on April 14, BFS members conducted a stop-and-search of a silver Mazda 3, near the Tom Jones off-ramp.

The two occupants, aged 35 and 49, were arrested when four bags of dagga, with an estimated value of R4 000, were found in their possession.

• On April 16, a 32-year-old man was arrested in Akasia on charges of being in possession of drugs, with the intent to sell.

A total of 24 individually wrapped parcels of dagga were found in a white Toyota Hilux, which belongs to the suspect.

The product is estimated to the value of R100 000.

Violation of a court order
Detectives from de Deur arrested three men in Petit on April 16.

The men were sought for violating a court order. Additional charges of defeating the ends of justice and resisting arrest were added upon their arrest.

Shoplifting
A suspect was arrested at Lakeside Mall on charges of shoplifting.

Vehicle recovered
An abandoned grey Volkswagen Polo was recovered at Sethokga Hostel, Thembisa. It was reported as hijacked in Kempton Park.
