Lee Rand High trio wants to hit bull’s eye at darts nationals
The learners achieved excellent results at the Gauteng Darts Inter-district Championships.
Lee Rand High School learners Phindile Ndlovu, Lesedi Mosea and Precious Onyekwelu will aim to hit the target when they represent Gauteng at the Darts SA (DSA) national championships in KwaZulu-Natal.
They represented the region at the Gauteng Darts Inter-District Championships in March. Following their performances, they earned a spot on the team selected to represent the province at the nationals at the Wild Coast Sun Resort and Casino in Port Edward, from July 13 to 19.
Ndlovu hit the target in the junior girls’ competition to end as the last player standing, becoming the first to be drafted for the provincial team.
Mosea claimed the third place while Onyekwelu fought from fifth to finish the competition in fourth place on the team card.
In the boys’ competition, the regional champions Mpumelelo Kubheka and Ndalo Makhanya narrowly missed the card to compete at the nationals.
