Ekurhuleni Darts Federation holds annual prize-giving

There were many awards given, and many players recognised throughout the evening.

The Ekurhuleni Darts Federation held their annual prize-giving on December 2 at the Kingsway Club in Brakpan to honour darts players and teams that excelled in the sport.

Vivian Lottering from the Gauteng Sports Federation stopped by to speak to the darts federation about sport.

Danie Binneman won the men’s player of the year and also the sportsman of the year awards. With him is Vivian Lottering (left).

“A child in sport is a child out of court. Darts is a family sport and helps people of all ages. Keep doing what you’re doing, because sport can change the world for the youth as well as the elderly,” Lottering said.

“Never forget where you came from. Do the basics right and remember, if you credit the Lord in your sport nothing can go wrong. Ekurhuleni Darts, I respect and salute you,” he concluded.

Clarice van Niekerk won the sports lady of the year award. Handing over the trophy is Vivian Lottering.

The Ekurhuleni federation recently won the sports federation of the year award.

After the prize-giving, the members enjoyed a buffet dinner and dancing to live music of singer and DJ, Leonardo.
