Police recover firearms, nab four
The suspects allegedly threatened victims at gunpoint before robbing them.
Benoni Flying Squad officers and the Benoni SAPS Crime Prevention Unit recently recovered a 9mm pistol with six live rounds of ammunition, and a replica firearm loaded with eight rounds from four men believed to be involved in contact crimes around Benoni.
According to SAPS Ekurhuleni district communication officer Captain Nelda Sekgobela, the suspects allegedly threatened victims at gunpoint before robbing them of their belongings.
On the day of the arrest, police swiftly responded to the scene and, upon arrival, the suspects attempted to flee. However, all four were quickly apprehended, arrested, and detained at the Benoni SAPS. They have since appeared in court.
