The SPCA has condemned the violent act.
The body of a male Africanis was found brutally stabbed and dumped in a sewerage stream in Gabon, Daveyton, on May 21.
The horrific discovery was made by the dog’s owners, who alerted the Benoni SPCA.

According to inspector Thomas Mohlake, when he arrived at the scene with his colleague, field officer Emmanuel Leutle, they found the dog’s partially submerged body floating in the stream.
Swift action from the community helped track down the suspect, who had fled when members of the SPCA arrived.
The man, who is reportedly a neighbour of the owner, was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.

He appeared in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court on May 22.
The SPCA has condemned the violent act and urged the public to report any form of animal abuse. This is a developing story.
