Benoni SPCA needs pet food and blankets urgently

The shelter, which cares for abandoned and neglected animals, relies on community support to keep its operations running.

The Benoni SPCA desperately appeals to individuals and local businesses for donations as its cat and dog food has reached critically low levels.

Monique Quenet, the organisation’s fundraising organiser, says this is the first time in many years the shelter has such a dire shortage.

“Our dog food stock might last another seven days at most. The cat food is already insufficient. We are genuinely worried,” said Quenet.

The society is also requesting donations of blankets to keep the animals warm during the cold winter.
