Hockey team clinches history-making victory

Noorderlig hockey team heads to provincials

For the first time in nearly two decades, Gekombineerde Skool Noorderlig’s U15 hockey team has advanced to the Noordvaal Tournament.

Under the guidance of coaches Michael Muller and Chante Wiese, along with technical official Juanita Joubert, the team remained undefeated throughout the league, scoring a total of 41 goals, conceding none.

Facing off against schools such as Hoërskool Balfour, the team lay it all on the field claiming a victory of 13-0.

The team now advances to the Noordvaal Tournament in July.

Their winning streak continued, beating CURRO Edenvale (7-0), Hoërskool Voortrekker (1-0), Hoërskool Goudrif (6-0), CURRO Waterstone (7-0), Hoërskool Johan Jurgens (5-0) and CURRO Serengeti (3-0).

Despite the league fixtures drawing to a close, the team will continue putting in the hours in preparation of the upcoming provincial tournament, which takes place in July and August.
