Crystal Park SAPS educates preschoolers on safety

Teaching kids about safety, respect, and the role of police officers, the Crystal Park SAPS’ campaign at Adventure Kids Preschool made a lasting impact during Child Protection Week.

To mark National Child Protection Week, the Crystal Park SAPS partnered with Crime Prevention Wardens to hold a safety awareness campaign at the Adventure Kids Preschool in Marister.

Crystal Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Lerato Mopeli said the campaign taught the children about safety at school and home.

“We emphasised that children must be protected at all times from abuse, violence and exploitation. We also taught them about crime, specifically theft, that you don’t take something that doesn’t belong to you, and that they shouldn’t be scared of police officers because they are their friends,” said Mopeli.

All the children received small gifts.
