SPCA needs hands to build 67 kennels

The project will take place on July 18 and 19, in honour of Nelson Mandela.

Known for his deep love and respect for animals, especially dogs, Nelson Mandela’s legacy continues to inspire acts of kindness.

The Benoni SPCA is inviting the public to join a special two-day initiative on Mandela Day (July 18) and July 19 to build 67 kennels for underprivileged dogs in the community.

“We’re going big this year for Mandela Day, and we need your help. Our goal is to build 67 kennels for dogs in need, and we’re calling on the community to join us with tools in hand and a willingness to help,” said Yalanda van Tonder, fundraiser committee chairperson.

Whether you’re a seasoned DIY expert or just want to lend a hand, the SPCA welcomes all volunteers to participate in this meaningful project.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring any tools or materials they have, but simply showing up with enthusiasm and time is equally appreciated.

The event will take place at the Benoni SPCA premises, 3 Klein Street, Lakefield.
