Operations are set to continue to in an effort to stamp our crime.
Possession of drugs
Members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) arrested a 25-year-old man from Brakpan for possession of drugs.
Vehicle recoveries
• BFS members recovered a stripped Big Boy motorcycle in Mapleton. The bike had been reported stolen in Bramley.
• A red Mazda was recovered in Daveyton. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Middelburg.
SAPS Rapid Response Services (RRS)
From June 30 to July 5, SAPS Rapid Response Services, including the Flying Squad, K9 Units, and Highway Patrol, arrested 47 suspects across Gauteng.
The operation resulted in:
• Thirty-two arrests for serious crimes, including common assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of suspected stolen property, possession of precious metals, possession of vehicle break-in implements, reckless and negligent driving, murder, hindering police in the execution of their duties, attempted murder, contravention of the Immigration Act, rape, and theft.
• Recovery of 25 hijacked or stolen vehicles.
• Four suspects were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms, and three firearms were seized.
• Eleven suspects arrested for drug possession with intent to sell.
• Drugs recovered included heroin and dagga.
