Mr and Miss Benoni finalists uplift children
The outing was filled with laughter, games, heartfelt connections and good food.
The spirit of community shone brightly as the Mr and Miss Benoni 2025 finalists swapped the glamour of the pageant stage for a day of joy by hosting the children from Kids Haven and Colin House at the Bunny Park on August 30.
The outing was filled with laughter, games, heartfelt connections and good food prepared by the finalists, showcasing that true beauty lies in compassion and service.
Claudine Stuart, from Rampage Modelling Agency (organisers of Mr and Miss Benoni), lauded the models for their commitment to giving back to the less fortunate in the community.
“This group has been absolutely amazing. Their dedication was incredible. They have brought in a lot of donations, which we distributed to different homes around Benoni. A lot more is going to happen after the final.
“The models really went out of their way. I’m proud of them. We loved this entire journey and can’t wait for the final on Sunday,” said Stuart.
Reflecting on her journey, model Zoe Taylor explained that it opened her eyes to the struggles faced by many in the community.
“It’s great to give back to children who don’t have the same opportunities we have. This journey got me out of my comfort zone and taught me what goes on in Benoni. I wasn’t aware there were so many needy people. I definitely want to carry on doing this,” she said.
Monique Genis said the journey taught her to care and give back more.
“It’s more about sharing. There is more beyond what’s in front of your eyes, more to care about than what’s pointed out, and it really opened my heart to what’s happening in the world. It’s a special moment to share with children who don’t have. I enjoyed it.”
Responding to what giving back means, Amogelang Mashinini said, “I’ve been giving since I was young. I enjoy it. I hope to have a charity organisation in the future. The fact that I get to experience being around needy children is something that helps me on this journey.”
