Garlands strengthen bonds of friendship
“Sometimes we just need someone who is willing to listen without judgement, that is what makes us Garlands.”
August was dubbed ‘accident month’ as an unexpected change of dates threatened to derail the monthly Garlands Ladies Luncheon Club meeting on August 27.
However, despite a comedy of errors, members and guests still took their seats at the Katse Room, Ebotse, and raised a glass in celebration of womanhood and friendship.

“Normally, I would stand before you to introduce a vibrant guest speaker to the podium or would set the tone for fun and entertainment,” said club president Margie Kostelac.
“This month, it is unfortunately not the case, but I believe that even in chaos, divinity reigns supreme. Listening to chatter around the tables, I believe that all in attendance needed an opportunity to just jabber, relax and enjoy fellowship in the presence of valued friends.”

With the volume of laughter increasing, the topic of emotional and physical decluttering started swirling around the room.
“It seems like we hit the right note today,” said past president Rhoda Toker.

“It is evident that every woman here has had a lot on their plate this past month. As the August winds are blowing in a change in season, it seems that everyone here is also facing some level of change.
“We often think that entertainment or inspirational talks are needed to steer us in a new direction, but sometimes the company of good friends is all that is needed to replenish our souls and to give our feet the courage to move forward.”

The Garlands Ladies Luncheon Club gives women of all ages and walks of life a place to meet like-minded women and to foster endearing friendships that stand the test of time.
