Crime round-up from the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) for October 12 to 16.

Illegal discharge of a firearm
BFS officers arrested a man at a supermarket in Bredell on October 12 on charges of discharging a firearm in public. They found a 9mm Glock pistol in his possession.

House break-in
Officers arrested a man in Western Extension after he was found breaking into a property on Victoria Avenue. The owner raised the alarm when she spotted the man forcing his way into her garage.
An alert neighbour pursued the man, who was on foot, in his vehicle while communicating their location with BFS officers.
Various housebreak-in implements were recovered on the scene.

Vehicles recovered
• Officers found a hijacked silver Toyota Corolla at the State Mines Country Club in Brakpan.
• A truck trailer was found in Springs. It had been reported as stolen in Westenburg, Polokwane
