Dan Triangle Karate Club Returns from KWF World Championships with Medals

The karatekas also atended seminars led by KWF chief instructors Shihan Mikio Yakara and Shihan Malcolm Dorfman.

The Dan Triangle Karate Club struck silver – and more – as three of its fighters returned from Japan with medals at the Karatenomichi World Federation (KWF) World Championships earlier this month.

Leading the charge was Bradley Ruthven, who captured a silver medal in the U16 to U17 boys’ individual kata, while the team of Gianluca del Gross, Cade Horn, and Ruthven impressed with a bronze in the boys’ U18 team kata, rounding off a memorable outing for the South African contingent.

The trio also attended advanced training seminars led by KWF chief instructors Shihan Mikio Yakara (10th Dan) and ninth Dan Shihan Malcolm Dorfman.

“A huge congratulations to our team. We are incredibly proud of their achievements,” said Dan Triangle chief instructor Sensei Chris Anthony.
