Hop on over to the Bunny Park for a day of family fun

The park has served as a safe retreat for families for nearly 60 years.

School will soon be out and parents are already steeling themselves for the dreaded wail of: “I’m booooored!”

Pack a picnic basket, slap on some sunscreen and grab your hats for a day of fun at the Bunny Park.

Enjoy a day out in the summer sun at one of the city’s favourite recreational parks, where kids can run and play while observing the facility’s variety of farm animals.

Shake a tail with the goats, have a ‘baa’ing’ competition with the sheep and moo’ve like the resident jersey cow, while making precious memories.

With ample parking and free entry you would be forgiven if the park becomes your second home this festive season.

Gates open at 08:00 to 16:00 daily and will be closed on December 25 and January 1.

Note that feeding of the animals is not allowed and this is a pet-free zone.

Although visitors are encouraged to respectfully interact with the animals, petting and chasing of the furry and feathered residents is discouraged.

Clean up after yourself, zap your rubbish in the designated bins and remember that this is an alcohol-free zone.

Turn down the volume, leave the speakers at home and enjoy the natural sounds of chattering birds.
