Tshegofatso Fenyane emerged as the top achiever at the George Mbilase Primary School’s academic awards on November 7, claiming the prestigious dux award for her exceptional performance in the classroom this year.

This accolade, which recognises the school’s top learner, capped her academic journey marked by consistency and excellence, ending with an average of 273.78.

Fenyane’s name now joins the school’s roll of honour, a fitting recognition for a learner whose determination and drive inspired many within the George Mbilase community.

The event, attended by founding principal Joseph Nhleko and former deputy principal Ndumiso Mnguni, honoured the top achievers from grades one to seven.

Community builder Thabang Dichaba, whose organisation Bacha Ba Dichaba Explorers, has been donating shoes and sanitary towels to the school since 2024, also attended the ceremony.

Keabetswe Kgatuko was the top performer in Grade One, while Nqobile Sityatya took the honour in Grade Two. Bontle Mngomezulu was the top achiever in Grade Three, Lindokuhle Motaung in Grade Four, with Neo Tshabalala the top achiever in Grade Five.

Ntokozo Msibi earned the top honour in Grade Six with an average of 265.83.

Mbali Magagula was also honoured by the Reading Champions of George Mbilase for dedicating time and energy to training the learners for their entrance dances.

The principal, Lizzy Mokwane, expressed her gratitude to the staff, learners, parents, and stakeholders for their unwavering support this year.
