WATCH: Garlands end year off on a high note

Guest artist, Michelle Veenemans’ renditions of yule-classics set the tone for a festive afternoon.

The Garland’s Ladies Luncheon Club ushered in the jolly holidays with a song and dance.

Meeting at Ebotse, the club’s members and guests, dressed in dazzling black and bling, made their final bow for the year on November 27.

Club president Margie Kostelac welcomed the room of vibrant women, saying that the past year has not only seen the club grow, but thanks to a long list of enthralling guest speakers, luncheons were well supported.

“As we take the time to reflect on the past year and take stock of the challenges we faced, let’s also give thanks to the friendships that were built around these tables,” she said.

“Garlands is a place where like-minded women meet, and the seeds of camaraderie blossom into beautiful kinships.”

Renowned former opera star, Michelle Veenemans, took the stage in dramatic style to perform an operetta of some of the most popular Christmas carols.

From warning that Santa can see who’s naughty or nice, to dreaming of a snow-covered Christmas, the Garlands joined Michelle in song, setting the tone for a very merry Christmas.

The Garlands is a monthly luncheon club that invites women from across the city and beyond to join. For more information, email Margie at margie.h@mweb.co.za
