Police recover body of missing man from Middle Lake
The family of the deceased was immediately notified after a police diver recognised Ahmed from the missing person report circulating in various community groups.
The body of a 31-year-old man, identified as Yaseen Ahmed, was found floating in Middle Lake on December 6 at around 15:00.
Ahmed, who lived in Actonville, was reported missing to the Boksburg North SAPS last week.
According to a missing-person flyer circulating on social media, Ahmed was last seen in the afternoon of November 30.
He was scheduled to have lunch with his mother on December 1, but never arrived.
The vehicle he was driving was later found in Farrarmere on the evening of December 2 with the keys in the ignition.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Captain Nomsa Sekele said the body was discovered by a person who was waterskiing in the area.
“He phoned the police, and when officers arrived, they alerted police divers who retrieved the body,” she said.
Sekele confirmed that the deceased had no visible injuries. Police recovered Ahmed’s wallet, identity document and cellphone at the scene.
“The family of the deceased was immediately notified after a police diver recognised Ahmed from the missing person report circulating in various community groups,” Sekele said.
An inquest docket has been opened at the Benoni Police Station as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
