The Benoni Northerns Rugby Club’s preparation for the upcoming Valke rugby season started on January 13, and the club is calling on anyone interested in the sport to join to bolster its squad ahead of the start of the league.

Northerns will field three teams this season – U21s, second, and first teams – and seek depth in key positions as they plan to become title contenders in all divisions.

Players are welcome at the club’s training sessions on the rugby fields at the Benoni Northerns Sports Club (opposite John Barrable Hall) every Tuesday and Thursday from 18:45 to 20:15.

Juan Olivier, Dian Roets, Wikus Coetzer, Malcolm Taylor (who led the second side to the Valke Peregrine title in 2024), Jan Hamman, and Nico Strydom will mentor the club this season.
