Blanket drive brings warmth to vulnerable Benoni residents

200 Blankets to individuals and families in Benoni to keep winter away!

As winter temperatures continue to drop, hundreds of vulnerable residents in Benoni have received much-needed relief through the donation of 200 blankets.

The blanket drive, done by the Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora, aimed to assist those most affected by the cold, including children, elderly residents and families facing difficult living conditions.

Blankets were distributed through local churches, community organisations and outreach initiatives to ensure they reached people in need.

The initiative also extended support to residents living in the Protea Park informal settlement and the Barcelona community, where many households experience increased hardship during winter.

Recognition was extended to The Friends of Martin De Porres Community Centre, Gail Wilson, and the Rotary Anns of Benoni Aurora for their hard work to make the drive possible.

For many recipients, the donations offered more than protection against the cold.

Community members are encouraged to continue supporting similar outreach initiatives through donations to help meet the growing demand for winter essentials.
