On August 12, members of the EMPD Bronberg Precinct, in collaboration with the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) City Planning and Township Development Department, conducted blitz inspections on businesses allegedly operating illegally in Petit and Crystal Park.

Five premises were raided, with operations including storage, construction and trucking, an eatery and filling station, truck sales and repair workshop, as well as an illegal liquor outlet.

“Warning notices were served to business owners for non-compliance with the spatial land use management by-laws and CoE Land Use Scheme,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Superintendent Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa.

“The businesses were instructed to cease operations within 10 working days, and the matter has been referred to the City Planning offices for applications for the correct zoning rights.

“We remain committed to enforcing municipal by-laws and ensuring that all businesses operate within the legal framework to promote safety, order, and full compliance within the city.”
