Firearm found at inmate’s home, friend arrested for narcotics
The friend will appear in the Daveyton Magistrate's Court soon
Police have recently recovered an unlicensed firearm and 22 live rounds of ammunition at the home of a suspect arrested in March for armed robbery.
According to Ekurhuleni district communication officer, Captain Nelda Sekgobela, members of the SAPS Crime Intelligence and EMPD tracing unit followed up on a tip-off which led them to the suspect’s house in Barcelona.
“A black crossbow pistol and 22 live rounds of ammunition were found hidden behind a sink.
“The police proceeded to a second address where a 46-year-old man, allegedly the suspect’s friend, lived. Six Mandrax tablets were found,” said Sekgobela.
The 46-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession and dealing in narcotics. He will appear in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court soon.
