Lakefield resident a Woman of Wonder

Women of Wonder Awards celebrates ordinary hard working women who are making a difference in their respective fields

Lakefield resident Hawa Bibi Essa recently received an award at the eighth annual Woman of Wonder Awards ceremony, at the Hilton Hotel, Sandton.

Essa was one of 42 deserving recipients from all over Gauteng who were chosen from 4 000 nominations.

Other winners included the former Executive Mayor of Johannesburg, Mpho Phalatse, radio personality Pabi Moloi, television personality Mbali Nkosi, as well as other professionals from various sectors.

Holding their Woman of Wonder awards is the former Executive Mayor of Johannesburg Mpho Phalatse and Benoni resident Hawa Bibi Essa.

Women of Wonder Awards celebrates and shows appreciation to hard working and dedicated extraordinary women who are making a difference in their respective fields.

A Woman of Wonder is described as a progressive thinker, a dynamic leader, a women that strives to make a difference in society, a women who makes a formidable impact on others and a woman who inspires and empowers.

Essa is a couture hairstylist, make-up artist and an international qualified Somatologist.
She took third place in an international hairstyling championships in 2021 and in 2016 was the hair and make-up artist for the Miss India SA Pagaent.
