GeekyCosTrash wins at Comic Con Africa
She competed with 69 other people in the competition.
Benoni resident Kayla Marques, also known as ‘GeekyCosTrash’, won big at this year’s Comic Con Africa event, which took place at Nasrec from September 22 to 25.
The four-day event is South Africa’s largest pop culture, gaming and fantasy festival which entails aspects from cosplay to streaming to gaming.
GeekyCosTrash won second place after competing with 69 other people in the cosplay competition on September 24.

“I was dressed as Scarlet Witch from the Marvel series. I bought the costumes but the dark hold/book was made by me using EVA foam. I also used various other materials to make the costume float by using invisible strings.
Comic Con was held for the first time after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
