Men arrested for allegedly tampering with essential infrastructure
The eight men were found in possession of suspected stolen copper.
The Putfontein police have arrested eight men recently at a plot in Hillcrest for allegedly tempering with essential infrastructure.
Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Raider Ubisi said officers received a tip-off about suspicious activities that were happening in Hillcrest.
“When officers arrived at that location, the eight men were found in possession of suspected stolen copper. A company marked vehicle that is suspected to have been used in the commission of an offence was impounded,” said Ubisi.
The men were arrested and detained at Putfontein SAPS.
Putfontein SAPS station commander Lieutenant Colonel Wellington Mathiane thanked members of the public for reporting criminal activities.
