A passing-out parade for the second group of the Gauteng crime prevention wardens took place at Tsakane Stadium on June 4. Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson Sello Maremane said 1 300 wardens have so far been deployed to various police stations in the East Rand.
“Their scope of work includes general crime prevention duties, like stop and search, patrolling in malls and much more,” he said.
