Remember prepaid meters switch to upgrade on November 24
The project got underway in Edenvale and Nigel at the beginning of last month.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) continues to update its prepaid electricity meters in a quest to provide an uninterrupted electricity supply to its customers.
The project got underway in Edenvale and Nigel at the beginning of last month.
The city has already covered 78% of the meters in Edenvale and Nigel, and later this month the focus moves to Benoni, Springs and surrounding areas.
“The current electricity meters will automatically cease to work by November 24, owing to a date rollover problem, unless they update each meter.
“This means residents can no longer load electricity on the meters after the deadline,” explained metro spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
“The Token Identifier (TID) rollover programme the CoE is using to update the electricity meters will continue until November 24.”
Tokens purchased but not utilised before the deadline will be invalid.
Dlamini reminded the public that to update when making the first purchase of electricity after the system settings, a client will receive a receipt with three tokens that need to be entered in the sequence as printed on the receipt.
The update takes about two minutes to process.
This change will affect all prepaid meters with 11 digits and not only CoE prepaid electricity meters.
For more information about this migration, clients must log on to tidrollover.com or call their nearest Customer Care Centre (CCC) – Benoni CCC 011 999 6433.
