Heading towards a spring clean? Your pre-loved handbags can comfort a victim of GBV

Donated handbags can be filled with pamper goodies like hand cream, lip gloss and chocolate.

Benoni Child Welfare needs donations of pre-loved handbags to turn into dignity packs for survivors of GBV.

Director of child welfare Vanessa Carelse said each handbag will help restore confidence and dignity for women who have endured domestic violence.

“We are collecting good secondhand handbags and asking the owners of these to fill them with a little care in the form of a hand lotion, lip gloss, sanitary pads, chocolates and tissues – and any other token of care and love for someone in need.”

Donations should be dropped off at Benoni Child Welfare, 1 Third Avenue, Northmead, by August 21.
