Principal under fire after matric learners miss exams
The principal allegedly lied to the department that there was a protest action in the area

The Department of Basic Education is taking disciplinary action against the principal of Phandimfundo Secondary School in Etwatwa, who allegedly told 53 learners not to pitch for their exam on the day they were writing their economics paper one.
It is alleged that the principal further misdirected the department by saying there was protest action in the area.
According to spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga, he department will make an announcement regarding the next steps to be taken for the learners who missed examinations through no fault of their own.
