“And grizzly ghouls from every tomb, Are closing in to seal your doom” (quote from Thriller) is how it feels when darkness falls and the weekend approaches.
The ghouls come out to play in the McDonalds parking lot on Great North Road, with no consequence to their actions as they fire up their little cars’ engines in the dead of night, play their mindless music and shrilly shout to each other above the drone of the noise.
The Farrarmere neighbourhood is frequently terrorised in the dead of night by the noise of these inconsiderate people, between the hours of midnight and 6am, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Our desperate pleas to the owners to do something about the situation is met with a shrug of the shoulders – being so politically correct to not lose business by asking the parties to leave their premises at the cost of the neighbourhood being harassed every weekend.
What is there to do but to appeal to the persons to do the right thing and be respectful of those in the neighbourhood desperately trying to sleep?
