Last night my husband and I went to Benoni Police Station, in Harpur Avenue, to report a bumper bashing.
I am pleased to report that the officer who assisted us was very pleasant and the offices looked well-maintained and clean.
While the officer was taking my details, however, my husband asked to use the toilet and was horrified to see that was no toilet paper in the toilets, but newspaper instead!
Surely these brave people who earn pathetic salaries and put their lives on the line for us every single day could be afforded the simple “luxury” of toilet paper?
I would have thought that was a basic human right.
Also, I hate to think of the potential plumbing problems of substituting toilet paper with newspaper could cause.
