Well done Mary, thank you

Maria Korfias writes online:

Re: no power on May 2, in Farrarmere:

I contacted Clr Mary Goby yesterday, at around 7.30pm, after trying endlessly to find out why our power was off since the morning.

No answer from call centres or emergency telephone numbers.

She was tremendous in getting standby electrical teams out to see where and what the problem was.

It was eventually sorted out.

The private contractors relocating a sub board on the corner of Linda and Christien streets had not reconnected the power to the remaining surrounding houses, although the power was reconnected to the sub board.

The fuses were left inside the sub board by the private contractors, lying on the base of the box.

The standby team saw to this, as well.

Without Mary’s intervention we would not have had our power restored to all affected houses so speedily.

Well done Mary, you work all hours to the benefit of the community.

Much appreciated and grateful thanks once again, you are a shining example of hands-on within council problems.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
