Wikipedia describes: “A police force is a constituted body of persons empowered by the state to enforce the law, protect property, and limit civil disorder”.
Clearly then, the state has failed to provide such.
Dear Benoni SAPS station commander, what empowerment were you lacking in order to prevent this sacking, looting and civil disorder?
Were you not provisioned with adequate staff? Loudhailers to warn them? Teargas to disperse them? Rubber bullets to nail the thieves who trashed and stole our mail? Kindly let us know.
I had high hopes for you, hopes obviously now in tatters. There are absolutely no excuses unless the above criteria were not in place, in which case, you’d better ask our President to get them emplaced because the rabble will be back again soon, just like they do at our annual Benoni city trashers’ parade.
Don’t you get it?
They get away with this now and they will do it again and again until our questionable society breaks down and the rabble rule. Stop it now, please.
By the way, what was our EMPD doing at the time? Just asking …
