Get me on that plane

Logan Green, sports journalist, writes:

I don’t know what it is, but I have some serious ants in my pants lately.

I am itching to do something that I have never done and to go to places that I have never been to before.

Don’t get me wrong I love good ol’ Benoni, but the travel bug has sunk its teeth into me and I cannot halt the burning desire that is building up within me.

I am reaching an age where it could be now or never to see new places before I eventually settle down, tie the knot and make little Logan Gs (that all still feels like an impossibility though).

The problem is (as it is for all of us) financing a trip.

My dream has first and foremost always been to go to Manchester, England to watch my beloved Manchester United in action at the “Theatre of Dreams”, Old Trafford Stadium.

Win or lose, I don’t care.

I want to take a picture of this ugly mug of mine in front of the famous Trinity Statue of George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton and Dennis Law.

I want to stand in the Stretford End and sing “We are the Busby Boys” and “United are the team for me” at the top of my lungs.

I just want to be there.

Besides watching my dear United there are many other places that I must see before the wrinkles come and the beer boep grows bigger.

I want to wander around the historically rich Prague in the Czech Republic.

Beautiful Prague.
Beautiful Prague.

I want to see the Eifel Tower in Paris, France for myself just to see what all the fuss is about followed by a drive down south to the symbol of absolute monarchy, the Palace of Versailles.

Man, do I have some goals.

The big thing now is to get there… and get there I will!

My savings are halfway there now, but there is a long way to go yet.

So, if you are feeling a little bit generous ahead of this festive season drop me a mail at lgreen@caxton.co.za and I will gladly forward you my bank account details ;).

Just joking!
