I won’t report crime

I know if there is a crime in progress, there will be no action taken....

Western Extension resident writes:

I would like to inform you why I will NOT report crime in Western Extension.

When I reported what looked to me like a drug dealer in action across the road from where I live, shifty-looking characters going in and out of a house, one looking up and down the street, I called 10111.

A very disinterested woman spoke slowly asking “what case number is it?” I said that there was no case number as I was watching this in progress and calling in to send someone right away.

She asked in a bored voice, “where is your nearest police station?”

I told her the exact name and house number and street and suburb to which she asked again “what is your complaint?”

I asked her to hurry as it was happening in front of me.

I watched for an hour and phoned again. A different woman answered … same lazy attitude, finishing with “we will send someone there”.

No police arrived.
