Juniors dominate at Rynfield Dam

The East Rand Boat Fishing Club (ERBFC) hosted a competition on Rynfield Dam, on Saturday, August 3.

The competition commenced at 8am and participating anglers had their lines in the water until 3pm.

A R60 000 prize, sponsored by Widesure Brokers, was on offer for any angler who could catch a carp tagged by the competition committee, but this carp was not caught on the day.

It was the youngsters who dominated the competition and the top three anglers on the day were all under the age of 16.

The top three anglers were:

• First place – Michael Webster with a 7.16kg barbel and a 1.68kg carp.

• Second place – Brandon Swanepoel with two carp weighing in at 1.56kg and 1.30kg respectively.

• Third place went to Stuart Haynes, with a 1.44kg carp. Stuart fished using just a kayak.
