Bens draw away from home

Old Bens Football Club’s first team remain in fifth place in the ELFA Super League Seniors Division Two, after a 3-3 away result to OSA, on Saturday, August 17.

According to first team coach Dave Clark, the team played well in spells and attacked with purpose in the opening stages of the game.

Ian Clark opened the scoring for Old Bens and new boy Thumi Sefama doubled the lead from the penalty spot to take the score to 2-0.

A goal from OSA took the score to 2-1, before Sefama added another goal from the penalty spot.

The home team then added a further two goals, after winning two penalties as a result of defensive errors.

“It was not our best defensive effort and we will have to do a lot to improve at the back,” said the coach.

The team will next face Olympia on Saturday, August 24, at 3.30pm.
