Boundaries galore in Actonville

Actonville Spurs Cricket Club began the inaugural ASPL T20 at the club on Sunday.

Actonville Spurs Cricket Club launched the ASPL T20 competition on Sunday, August 10, a T20 tournament that features teams from around Ekurhuleni, Fordsburg and Lenasia.

The tournament is a curtain raiser to what the club hopes will be a memorable campaign in the Eastern Premier League.

Both fields at Lords Cricket Grounds saw action and boundaries aplenty.

Results from the opening day:

  •  Monstar CC beat Lenz Lions by three wickets.
  •  Yorkburg beat Al Fatah by seven wickets.
  •  MAQ XI beat Cambridge by seven wickets.
  •  CBC Old Boys beat Bakerton by 34 runs.

The second weekend begins on Saturday, August 18, at 2.30pm at Lords 1 when hosts Actonville take on MAQ, while Sunday, August 19, will see matches on both grounds from 8.30am.
