An appeal is being made to former Federation Professional League (FPL) players of the 1970s and 1980s to join the South African Fed Soccer Legends Gauteng team as they prepare for the inaugural inter-provincial tournament, in November, in Port Elizabeth.
This promises to be a terrific gala event, as the national SA Fed Soccer Legends will also be launched.
There were many FPL players from the East Rand and, in particular, from Benoni, and these are the players the organisers are targeting.
This goodwill tournament, featuring Gauteng, Southern KwaZulu-Natal, Northern KwaZulu-Natal, Kawzekhele (former Transkei) and Western Cape FPL Legends, will mark the launch of the Eastern Cape Legends.
