Cobras choke the Titans out

The Cape Cobras squeezed the life out of the Unlimited Titans at Sahara Park Willowmoore in their Momentum One Day Cup day/night clash on Friday, February 5.

The team, from the Western Cape, crushed the hosts by 113 runs on the Duckworth/Lewis method to earn their fourth bonus-point victory in five matches.

Asked to bat first by Titans skipper Henry Davids, the Cobras posted a competitive 237/5 in 42 overs after their innings was interrupted by an afternoon thunderstorm.

The Titans were set a revised target of 247 in 42 overs, but their batting line-up couldn’t come to the party as they were skittled out for 133 runs in 30.4 overs.

This leaves the team with an extremely slim chance of qualifying for the play-offs with only two matches remaining in the competition.
