Daveyton youngsters display their talent
Daveyton Golf Club held their 2016 Junior Development Tournament recently.
The tournament was backed by Pollen Ndlanya Sports Development, Naledi Bakery, the SA Open and the Ekurhuleni metro.
The winners in the various divisions were –
• A-Division (boys): 1 Sinekhaya Lucas 77 gross; 2 Thomas Masetle 72 best net; 3 Sphiwe Nhlapo 84 gross.
• B-Division (boys): 1 Calvin Mahlangu 84 gross; 2 Xolani Mbungu 69 best net; 3 Sbusiso Mkhwanazi 85 gross.
• C-Division (boys): 1 Khaya Maluleka 47 (best IPS); 2 Senzo Funeka 42 oco (IPS); 3 Sean Tsipa 42 oco (IPS), Siyabonga Magubane 42 (IPS).
• Nine holes competitors: 1 Kutullo Sibadelo 22 (IPS); 2 Themba Madonsela 19 (IPS); 3 Zenzi Shongwe 14 (IPS).
“We’re indebted to Benoni Country Club (BCC) for the support they give us, through our partnership,” said Pule Taunyane, Daveyton Golf Club secretary.
“The Daveyton course is becoming better and better, thanks to the assistance of Darren Millington, CEO of BCC.
“The presence of Andy Ostle, manager of the South African Golf Development Board (SAGDB) also graced the occasion and we thank him for spending the whole day with us and supporting our juniors.”
