Goals come thick and fast for Northerns
The goals have been flying in for coach Jannie van der Berg’s Benoni Northerns Football Club’s (BNFC) first XI in their first three matches of the ELFA Super League season.
The side has scored 23 goals and conceded just one goal in those opening three encounters against Corinthians, Germiston and now Boksburg.
On Saturday, April 1, the team played their first fixture of the season at Northern Areas against Boksburg and emerged victorious with a 6-1 score line.
“We must not get carried away with the results and scores of late,” said van der Berg.
“The good thing is that we have been converting our chances and the goals are coming from all over the park and not just from one player.
“Our next fixtures are only going to get tougher.”
Meanwhile, BNFC talent Keegan Frawley hit another sublime free kick in the match (video by Shaun Lottering):
The team will play Alberton away on Saturday, April 8, followed by a night clash against Robertsham on Tuesday, April 11.
