Young biathlete heading to Spain

Jordan Gunter (10), a learner at St Columba’s School, recently represented Gauteng in the u-13 boys’ age group at the South African Biathle Championships in George.

He competed against 36 boys in the 400m run, 50m swim, 400m run and achieved a third place. His time qualified him to represent the country at the Biathle World Championships that will be held in Viveiro, Spain from September 20 to September 24.

It is a terrific effort considering that he only started doing the sport in October last year.

He is trained and coached by Richard O’Donoghue.
