Aiming to knock out racism with junior boxing bonanza
The VIP Boxing and Fitness Gym based at the Indoor Sports World in Malherbe Street, Rynfield is calling on all residents of Benoni to join hands with the young VIP Boxing Gym Kids as they compete against each other in the ring in a bid to promote the message of ‘fighting against racism and racial intolerance’ at the Kids’ Christmas Boxing Bonanza.

“We hope that we can help plant a seed of hope, love and togetherness in our young boxers, some of whom are as young as five and six years old,” said Harry Ramogoadi-Manaka, owner of the gym.
The event, which will be an annual event, is the brainchild of Ramogoadi-Manaka who said: “As a black man I came to this part of the world a couple of years ago and was welcomed with warm hands and loving hearts by the people of this beautiful town.
“The majority of my clients are white and all I get from them is love and support.
“Where is the racism in that?
“We all can live together in peace and harmony.”
He urged interested spectators to support the event and continue the legacy of the late president Nelson Mandela.
The event starts at 2pm and runs until 6pm.
