Dressed to the nines for round robin tennis rendezvous

The Gauteng East tourney served up superb fun.

The Gauteng East Tennis Association’s Wilson Doubles Round Robin was played at the Gauteng East Tennis Complex in Lakeside, Benoni, on May 1.

One hundred and thirty-eight players, making up 69 doubles teams, enjoyed the tournament.

Many local players entered, including players from Pretoria, Nigel, Edenvale and Vosloorus.

Players from beginner to advance level showed off their talents.

Wilson prizes were given to the best-dressed doubles teams, which saw many players dressed to the nines.

Desiré Wilson, organiser of the tournament, said: “Gauteng East is so excited to be bringing the fun back into tennis.

“This is our third such round robin and our next one will be in the June school holidays.”
