Benoni Seals honours swimmers

The swimmers were awarded for representing the club with distinction in the 2021/22 season

The Benoni Seals held a prize-giving ceremony to honour their swimmers for their exceptional performance in the 2021 and 2022 season on May 22.

Among those honoured was extreme swimmer Kyle Stephens who earned himself a place in the Guinness Book of World Records after breaking the False Bay crossing record.

The 17-year-old achieved the feat in 08:08:15 and also became the youngest person to successfully finish the swim.

The prize winners were:

• Bayleigh Loock: best performer at level 2

• Keegan Nellmapius: best performer at level 3

• Lara de Beer: best performer at the South African Regional Junior and EGA Championships in December, 2021.

Other members who competed at various levels were:

• Benjamin Baker: level 3

• Morgan Botha: level 2

• Isabella Arterio: level 3

• Amy-Lee Jones: level 3
