When a blind date goes horribly wrong between single parents, Jim Friedman (Adam Sandler) and Laura Reynolds (Drew Barrymore), the two are left horrified and hope to never see each other again.

However, an unfortunate event leads the two to meet again.

Meanwhile, Laura’s friend Jen is dating a businessman named Dick, who also happens to be Jim’s boss.

Dick and Jen are planning a family holiday to Africa, but Jen rejects the idea of being a mother to Dick’s five children and decides to leave him, and the prospect of the trip is cancelled.

Jen tells Laura that she’s no longer going on the trip.

Laura gets excited and decides to take the trip with her her two children; meanwhile Jim is also planing to take up the same holiday for his family.

A surprise awaits as both families arrive at South Africa’s Sun City for the holiday.

The families avoid each other at first, but a bond builds between Laura and Jim as they get to know each other.

The constant arguing between the Friedman and Reynolds families offers a fun and romance-filled movie experience.
