Former Benoni dance trainee invites renowned pros
Well, The Red Convention is hosted by Red Robynne Studios and takes places from August 1 to 4 at The Oak Tree Event Venue, Bedfordview.
World-renowned dancer, choreographer and teacher Rubén Sánchez García will make his debut appearance in South Africa where he will be headlining The Red Convention.
So how does this relate to Benoni, you ask?

Robynne Versfeld, from Red Robynne Studios, did most of her training with Steps School of Dance in Benoni until opening her own studio last year and still danced under their name both locally and internationally.
She is also no stranger to the East Rand as she grew up in Kempton Park and now lives in Edenvale.
Versveld assembled a top-notch group of dance professionals to provide workshops during the four days.
These dance professionals are well-known contemporary dancer and choreographer Kelsey Middleton, Latin champion Ryan da Silva (he trained winners and runners-up in the local version of Dancing with the Stars) and popular hip-hop artist Pacou Mutumbo (also known as DJ Pacou).
Versveld has been active in the professional dance industry since 2011. She has been part of the South African Dance Team since 2003 where she has qualified to represent South Africa in ballet, modern, tap, jazz and show dance, collecting multiple world champion titles in each style over the years.
She was also invited to perform at the highly prestigious and exclusive IDO International Gala Event in 2015.
