New Ferrari Portofino M revealed with 456 kW
Ferrari has unveiled its new Portofino M model that comes with extra power as well as a new gearbox.
Scheduled to arrive in South Africa in 2021, the Ferrari Portofino M 2+ GT spider gets its inspiration from the recently revealed Roma model and employs a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with 456 kW of power and 760 Nm of torque.
A 0-100 sprint time is achieved in 3.4 seconds while its top speed is capped at 320 km/h.
All that amount of oomph is accessed via a completely redesigned eight-speed gearbox that replaces the previous seven-speed transmission.
According to the Italian marque, it is the first eight-speed to be installed on an open-top Ferrari and is based on a dual-clutch oil bath architecture with a 20% smaller clutch module and 35% higher torque delivery.
In terms of dimensions, the new Ferrari Portofino M boasts a length of 4 594mm, a width of 1 938mm (2020mm with wing mirrors), a height of 1 318 plus a wheelbase of 2670mm.
On the outside, the Portofino M comes with a slightly tweaked front bumper, new alloy wheel designs and new exterior paint colours. The interior is said to remain unchanged.
